Plans to encourage householders to make their homes much warmer and cheaper to run have been announced by the UK government.
Householders are to be offered long-term loans to install insulation, solar panels or other green technology in their homes, which they can then repay through energy bills.
Ed Milliband the current energy secretary said the scheme would enhance the value of a property by making its energy costs “significantly lower”.
Unfortunately, the gimmick scheme which would mean your savings would be offset by the loan repayment being built in to the future gas, electricity & dual fuel home energy bills of the house itself (no matter who owns it now or who you sell it to in the future !! ) has not yet been agreed with any of the major energy suppliers.
