Plans to encourage householders to make their homes much warmer and cheaper to run have been announced by the UK government.
Householders in the UK could be offered long-term loans to install insulation, solar panels or other green technology in their homes, which they then repay over time through their energy bills.
Unfortunately, the scheme which would mean your savings would be offset by the loan repayment being built in to the future gas & electricity bills for the house itself (no matter who owns it now or who you sell it to in the future !! ) have yet to be agreed with all the major energy suppliers.

In the mean time you could of course pay less for your home energy by either changing supplier or installing some energy saving measures of your own.
