The UK Government has already paid out more than £260m to provide financial support towards the extra cost of heating a home for vulnerable pensioners and families due to the UK’s recent freezing weather conditions, according to the Department of Works and Pensions.
DWP cold weather payments of £25 are paid out when the temperature is recorded as 0° Celsius (freezing point) or below for each period of seven consecutive days.
