Households looking to make home energy savings no longer recieve the £400 grant towards the cost of a new boiler under a boiler scrappage scheme after funding ran out for the scheme which was aimed at boosting jobs as well as helping to tackle the consequences of climate change.
Following on from the cancellation of the successful car scrappage scheme which offered £2000 towards a new car, the boiler scrappage scheme was aimed at both cutting carbon emissions and helping people to pay less for the cost of heating their homes.
