I never shop in the same place for everything I need, most stores will offset their bargain items by putting the price up on other essentials.
When I visit a supermarket in person, I always check out the usually more expensive luxury items that are reduced because maybe the sell by date is getting close. I then check to see if it is suitable for home freezing and buy as many of that item as I can afford at the time.
Online Shopping
When I do my home shopping online, I allways visit more than one retailer who can provide me with the product I want and always visit the special offers section and check my email for the latest up to date discount shopping codes before I go to the checkout. I purchase the buy one get one free items first which helps offset any delivery charges.
After you have shopped for the first time make sure you tick the “send me offers” box, (you could set up a seperate email box just for these) as you will on a regular basis be sent special online discount deals such as free delivery or money off your next shop.
Discount Flyers And Coupons
Whenever I get those numerous local store leaflets and discount coupons that all seem to arrive at the same time through the letterbox, I make a shopping list from the bargains displayed in each leaflet and then the next time I am simply passing the store in question I will call in and deliberately only purchase those bargain items.
Petrol
I never drive past a petrol station that has a bargain fuel price (especially a supermarket petrol station) even if I don’t need to fill up with fuel. I could never pass up the opportunity of a half or even quarter tank of cheap petrol.
