How did the
directories begin?
| "Up
until 1998 I like the majority of
people in the UK simply paid the
advertised price for the products
and services I purchased. If an item
was on "sale" I naively assumed that
must be the best price available.
All
that changed however, when I began a career as an energy savings
advisor which was made possible when
the UK Government deregulated the UK
gas market and allowed consumers
to chose whichever domestic provider
of gas they wanted
in direct competition with the then
dominant British Gas. This
was then closely followed by the
deregulation of the UK electricity
market in direct competition with
whichever local electricity supplier
you bought your electricity from.
During
the next 8 years I went on to work
on projects for various alternative
(and cheaper) domestic and business
providers of gas, electricity,
mobile phones, home phone calls,
broadband & even digital
television services before deciding
to become an independent savings
specialist in 2006.
The
term IPayLess literally means I
Pay Less. Obviously because the
internets url structure places words together
the term was initially not
recognised by Google who "helpfully"
asked if I meant to search for "hopeless",
however, I am
pleased and proud to say that doesn't
happen now".
